Flapjack

I have tried flapjack before coming to the UK. In Taiwan, flapjack is more like the healthy food for people who would like to have a diet or something. But, I think flapjack is more like the usual biscuit. It is actually very easy to bake. Knowing the basic one can bake lots of various flapjack. It is very scrumptious. And it is very easy to put some in your bag. So, when you are hungry, you can grab it from your bag immediately.

Oven Temperature Setting: 180C/350F/Gas Mark 4
Baking Time: Around 30~35 minutes
Recipe: A 20 x 30 cm Baking Tray

Steps of Flapjack

(1) Prepare a saucepan. Melt butter in the pan in the small heat
(2) Add golden syrup into the pan.
(3) Add sugar in to the pan. Stir all ingredients until they are all melted and well-incorporated. Then, switch the heat off

(4) Add all oats into the pan. Mix oats with syrup sauce. Make sure it is well mixed.
(5) Pour the oats into the greased baking tray or with baking paper. Use a spoon to level it. Send it to the pre-heated oven at 180C/350F/Gas Mark 4 and bake it around 30~35 minutes until it turns a golden edge.

(6) Cool it around 10 minutes. Then, cut it into the squares or bars. Any way you like. And then, leave at the room temperature until it is cool totally.

It is so delicious. We ate out the half of the flapjack on the day after it is done. If you like flapjack, bake it by yourself. It is definitely more delicious than the one you purchase from shops. Enjoy it.
